Microsoft last week announced retailers using PromoteIQ platform are now able to monetize their websites with demand from thousands of brand advertisers using Microsoft Advertising platform.

Microsoft bought PromoteIQ in 2019. PromoteIQ is Microsoft’s retail media platform, competing with Criteo and CitrusAd (Publicis). PromoteIQ enables retailers to sell their audiences to brands onsite, offsite, and in-store activations.

According to Microsoft, brands using Microsoft Advertising platform will have the ability to set up their ad campaigns to serve on Microsoft and partner properties and participating retailer websites. As a result, participating retailers in PromoteIQ are likely to see a no-cost boost in the traffic directed to their websites. This is powered by automatically matching retailer products to the corresponding and participating brands and directing interested shoppers to retailer websites.
