Roku today announced that ended 2020 with 51.2 million active accounts. Roku added 14 million accounts in 2020.

“I’m excited that more than 50 million households now turn to Roku for their TV viewing,” said Roku CEO Anthony Wood. “The world is moving to streaming and we look forward to continuing to help viewers, advertisers, content publishers, and TV manufacturers succeed in the Streaming Decade.”

Roku had an estimated 17 billion streaming hours in the fourth quarter for a total of 58.7 billion hours in 2020, an increase of 55% year over year for the quarter and the full year.

Roku is one of the main video streaming platforms in the United States, that invests in Connected TV ads.

According to FreeWheel, 91% of the Connected TV ad views happen on Attached Devices (E.g.Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku), 5% on Gaming Consoles, and 4% on Smart TVs.

Roku is integrated with LiveRamp Identity Link. Roku bought dataxu DSP in 2019, now renamed as OneView Ad Platform.
