Google Search Central Live event returns to Brazil with expanded reach

Three days ago, on January 15, 2025, Google announced the return of Search Central Live events to Brazil, marking a significant expansion with two locations scheduled for February 2025. According to the announcement posted on the Google Search Central blog, the events will take place in São Paulo on February 18 and in Recife on February 20, introducing the northeastern city as a new venue.

According to Daniel Waisberg from Search Relations and the Google News Partnerships Brazil team, consisting of Ricardo Wright and Natalia Mazotte, the decision to return follows successful iterations in 2023 and 2024. The São Paulo event will commence at 09:00, while the Recife session starts at 14:00.

A notable addition to the speaker lineup includes Bruno Possas, Vice President of Engineering at Google, who manages the Google Search teams from the Belo Horizonte office. The events will feature presentations from Search Console and Google Trends team members, offering insights into product optimization strategies.

Technical presentations will cover several key areas of search technology. According to the official announcement, the sessions will explore the mechanics of Google Search and the rationale behind updates, artificial intelligence integration in search functionalities, and recent developments from the Search Console and Trends teams.

The events maintain a strict registration process. Interested participants must submit their applications by January 23, 2025. The organizers will review applications and send invitations to selected attendees on January 30, 2025. These invitations serve as mandatory credentials for event entry.

The sessions target a diverse audience, including search engine optimization specialists, content creators, website owners, developers, and journalists. Some presentations will be delivered in Portuguese, while others will be in English with live translation services provided.

Measurement and analytics form a significant portion of the technical content. Sessions will demonstrate methods for evaluating SEO efforts through Search Console and Google Analytics integration. Additional discussions will focus on Google Brazil's collaborative initiatives with local enterprises in Search and News sectors.

The events maintain an exclusive in-person format, with no provisions for live streaming or recording. This approach emphasizes the importance of direct interaction and networking opportunities. Attendees will have dedicated time slots for discussions with representatives from Google's Search and News teams.

Registration remains open through dedicated event websites for both locations. The São Paulo event, scheduled at an undisclosed venue, marks the continuation of Google's presence in Brazil's largest city. The Recife event represents Google's first Search Central Live gathering in northeastern Brazil, indicating an expansion of the company's educational initiatives beyond the country's southeastern region.

Participation requires a multi-step process: interested individuals must first apply through the event websites, await confirmation emails scheduled for January 30, and retain these communications for venue access. The organizers have implemented this system to manage attendance numbers effectively.

The timing of these events coincides with significant developments in search technology, particularly in artificial intelligence applications. Sessions will address how businesses can adapt to these technological shifts while maintaining effective search presence.

Presentations will be structured to accommodate both technical and non-technical participants, with specific focus on practical applications of search tools and analytics platforms. The events will include detailed explanations of search functionality, allowing attendees to understand the underlying mechanisms of Google's search systems.

This announcement follows Google's broader strategy of maintaining direct communication with web professionals in Brazil, building upon previous years' engagement initiatives. The expansion to Recife demonstrates an acknowledgment of Brazil's growing regional tech communities beyond traditional centers.
