Pinterest this month announced new ways to shop from pins, on boards, from search, and through new browsable recommendations for home decor.
According to Pinterest, 97% of top searches are unbranded, meaning people come to Pinterest to shop for generic terms and not specific brands, leveling the playing field for businesses of all sizes to be discovered.
Last month, Pinterest launched a Verified Merchant Program, where retailers can apply to have a have a blue checkmark on their profiles, and access to more insights.
The new ways to shop on Pinterest are:
Shop from a board
When a Pinner visits their home decor or fashion board, they’ll now see a Shop tab that shows products from or inspired by the Pins on their board. Pinners will see in-stock products based on what they’ve been saving for a room or look.
Shop from search
A new shop tab will appear on search, so a user can shop in-stock products from a range of retailers when searching for terms like “spring outfits”, “office decor”, “kitchen remodel”. Pinterest also added price and brand filters.
Shop from Pins
According to Pinterest, users that click “shop similar” are now seeing related in-stock products for looks and rooms.
