Advertisers suffer a data outage in Google Marketing Platform

Google this month announced that it has suffered a data outage for some reporting metrics between March 31 and April 7, 2021. The data outage affects advertisers using Display & Video 360 and Campaign Manager 360, for display ads served to web environments.

The metrics affected are Begin-to-render Impressions, Provisional Impressions, and Viewable Impressions.

Google says the data outage was caused by problems with a Display & Video 360 and Campaign Manager 360 counting method and how that method interacted with the IMA SDK.

The problem was resolved as of April 8, but the data is unrecoverable. Google clarified that no other metrics were affected, including any used for billing.
