Google this week launched Google Podcasts on iOS. Google says that regardless of the platform users are using, the listening progress will sync across devices. Google this week also announced that users can now subscribe to podcasts on the web.
Google Podcasts on iOS is organized around 3 tabs: Home, Explore, and Activity. The Home tab features a feed of new episodes and gives users access to the subscribed shows. The Explore tab, “For you” displays new show and episode recommendations related to the interests. The Activity tab displays the listening history, queued up episodes, and downloads.
On Google Podcasts, users can enable automatic downloading and/or push notifications for when new episodes come out. Google Podcasts are available on Android , iOS , and web .
According to Sensor Tower, in 2018, the top podcasts apps, were Castbox , Stitcher , The Podcast App , Google Podcasts , Podbean , Podcast Addict , Overcast , Pocket Casts , Podcast Republic , and PodcastOne .
