Google to show anchor ads on desktop screens

Google this month announced it is now displaying anchor ads on wider screens. Anchor Ads stick to the edge of the user’s screen and are dismissible. Anchor Ads mainly serve on mobile but can appear on desktop too.

According to Google, AdSense publishers with the anchors turned on, will soon see the anchor ads on wider screens such as desktop.

Google says experiments show that anchor ads perform well on wider screens.

Publishers that do not want to show anchors on wider screens can turn them off using the new “Wide screen” control in your Auto ads settings. Google clarifies that wide-screen anchors won’t start serving until after July 19, 2021.
