Google updates Political Content Policy for Taiwan
Effective December 2023, Google will update its Political Content policy to include restrictions in Taiwan. The policy update will prohibit ads featuring political parties, current elected officeholders, or candidates for certain elected offices on Google platforms in Taiwan.
Effective December 2023, Google will update its Political Content policy to include restrictions in Taiwan. The policy update will prohibit ads featuring political parties, current elected officeholders, or candidates for certain elected offices on Google platforms in Taiwan.
The restricted offices include President, Vice President, member of the Legislative Yuan, municipal councilor, county (city) councilor, representatives of township congresses, representatives of mountain indigenous districts congresses, governors of municipalities (municipal mayors), governors of counties (cities), and chiefs of townships (cities), chiefs of indigenous districts and chiefs of villages (boroughs).
Advertisers who have already completed verification for Taiwan election ads will have their accounts converted to be a part of the Google advertiser verification program. Taiwan election ads previously shown in the Transparency Center will remain publicly accessible.
