Arjan Dijk, VP of Marketing, Global Executive Sponsor of Gayglers at Google, revealed this week that there are 190,000 gay friendly businesses on Google My Business, with the attributes “LGBTQ-friendly” and / or “Transgender Safe Space."

According to Google, Corey Miller, the owner of Corey’s Bakery & Catering in Palm Harbor, FL, has added the LGBTQ-friendly attribute to his listing on Google to “let it be known that all are welcome without any questions.” He explains, “People feel welcome without a need to second-guess being treated equally.”
How businesses can add the gay friendly attributes?
- Log in to your Google My Business account. On your Google My Business dashboard, access the Info tab.
- Click on the Attributes section of the listing editor.
- Search for attributes such as “Transgender Safe Space” and/or “LGBTQ-friendly,” click on the relevant tag below, and then click “APPLY.”
- Your business should now be listed with the relevant attribute(s). Edits may be reviewed for quality and can take up to three days to be published.
